Gustav has a passion for business and entrepreneurship. His career path has given him exposure to many different industries and sectors in the economy.After a brief stint as an audit manager at a medium sized firm he decided to start his own consulting business. He specialized in group restructuring and corporate finance structures for many SME’s.

Servicing clients in the construction, property development, transport and import and export industry with complex finance structures.For 8 years he gained experience and built a strong business network not only in the finance sector but across a broad spectrum of the economy. This is of great value as his network and relationships remained one of his strong points.

Gustav joined Optimum in 2021 where he was tasked to establish a whole new finance division for the group. An asset finance division was established and later  a new alternative finance division was also created whereby new initiatives and no longer the ordinary vanilla finance models were the order of the day.In a short period Gustav have achieved great success and has placed over R 300million worth of finance deals with various finance houses and also assisted in starting a new private equity fund.

The SME market is where he would like to focus and enable companies to grow and expand their business. Corporate finance is his main focus. New innovative funding is the way forward to unlock business opportunities.

Gustav is married with 3 kids. His hobbies are golf, hunting and is actively involved in the school and community of Langebaan where he now reside.
