"He who has health has hope
and he who has hope has everything."

- Arabian Proverb

The role of Optimum's Healthcare Specialists are to provide expert advice and guidance on the various options available and help individuals make informed decisions based on their unique healthcare needs and financial circumstances.

Medical Aid

Medical Aid is a priceless commodity that needs proper planning and foresight to manage and protect. A good healthcare plan does not only help guard against the devastation of disease and unforeseen tragedies such as pandemics and accidents but can also save one's family from financial distress.

Medical Insurance, on the contrary, is affordable medical cover which offers either/or cover for accidental related injuries that requires urgent hospitalisation and/or basic day-to-day benefits available with a network of providers.

Medical Aid and Insurance options and prices seem endless, and without wanting to balance the well-being of one’s loved ones against the emptiness of one’s pockets, reality has definite limits.

Gap Cover

Gap cover provides additional coverage to individuals who have an existing medical aid policies. The purpose of gap cover is to help bridge the gap between the amount being charged by medical providers versus the amount (tariffs) being paid by the medical aids. This can include expenses related to hospitalisation, surgery, specialist consultations, and other medical services, depending on the type of GAP cover options.

Group Medical Schemes

A group medical scheme is a medical aid plan that is offered by an employer to their employees as part of their employee benefits package. It is designed to provide healthcare coverage to employees and their dependents at a group level, which can be more beneficial than individual Medical aid plans.  By having a group medical aid in place, the employer may have the option to offer new employees cover without any waiting periods or penalties (group size dependant).

Group medical insurance options have lower premiums and better coverage than individual insurance plans because the risk is spread across a large group of people. The insurance company can negotiate lower rates with healthcare providers since they have a large pool of insured individuals.
