Brian started as Employee Benefits Consultant at Optimum Group in January 2023 where he’s mainly responsible for the following: to ensure compliance to service level agreements and turnaround times; conducting annual review of all benefits; compiling a value based, integrated and progressive annual strategy for each client; proposing strategies geared towards mitigating the risks identified, improving efficiencies, and leveraging business opportunities within each client.

Brian has 13 years’ experience in the financial services and employee benefits industry. He entered the financial industry in February 2010 when he started at Sanlam SA as contributions specialist, where he managed relationships with internal departments, and acted as general ledger.

Brian completed various courses and certificates: Advanced Certificate in financial planning; Retirement Funds Certificate; Management Functions of an Organisation; Wealth Management Certificate; and he completed his RE1 Key Individual and RE 5 Representative exams through Moonstone.

He is passionate about member education and his greatest reward is knowing that he can be part of a team who can make a difference in a member’s life.
